Glossary
Current Stoic Edge System terms.
1-2-3
Step 1 break through the active moving-average area, Step 2 consolidation or retest, and Step 3 expansion from that structure. It defines directional state; it is not a second setup family.
Execution timeframe
The one chart selected before activation to time the entry. The five-minute chart is the course default.
HCOM / LCOM
Higher-timeframe monthly high-close and low-close levels used for location.
Inside bar
Candle whose range sits inside the previous candle. Ignore it as the active candidate.
Eligible candidate — clean teaching example
Completed candle formed during a clean pullback on the chart that owns the setup. It is not an inside bar, and the active directional structure remains intact.
PTB
Pullback Trigger Bar. The final completed candidate earns this name when price trades through its high for a long or low for a short.
Parent activation level
The frozen parent-chart level that activates the larger idea: a Step 2 boundary during a developing Step 3, or an eligible completed parent candidate high or low after a confirmed 1-2-3. Trading through the latter confirms the parent PTB.
Parent timeframe
The selected chart that owns the larger 1-2-3, PTB, or breakout condition.
Setup family
The entry pattern being studied in a focused lesson. Module 02 uses PTB as its pullback-entry setup. Module 01 separately permits discretionary entry during the Step-3 boundary break.
Prior extreme
Prior high for a long or prior low for a short. In clean teaching examples, it is the visible swing high or low formed by the active move before the PTB pullback. It is the first management decision point. Exact selection among several competing swings remains open.
R
One unit of initial risk defined by the trader's account plan.
Step 1
Break through the active 10/20 moving-average area.
Step 2
Consolidation or retest around the moving averages. It needs a readable base; same-direction stair-step candles are not enough.
Step 3
Clear directional expansion from the Step 2 structure, preferably with a full close in the clean examples.
Trade through
Price prints beyond the active candidate high for a long or low for a short. This confirms the candidate as the PTB without another candle-close requirement. Exact order type and entry buffer remain open execution rules.
Wait
No trade while the sequence, PTB, room, risk, or session condition is unqualified.
