Higher-timeframe map

Daily and hourly direction, location, and room.

Begin with the Range Model: two setups and two targets. This page gives supporting detail or an entry-method reference within that map. Its method-specific conditions apply when you choose that method.

Name the range that owns the trade

Record the instrument, timeframe and chosen box before assigning targets. The parent and child boxes each have their own high, low and midpoint. A child breakout can still be inside the parent range.

Previous-day highs and lows can be nearer references along the path. They do not automatically replace the chosen range's two targets. Label them as obstacles or local management references when that is their role. Keep the target arithmetic attached to the named box.

For a parent-range sweep, the midpoint and opposite boundary belong to that parent box. For a held break, measure one and two heights beyond its broken side. A smaller-chart trigger may help with timing, but it does not confirm the larger boundary response by itself.

Add the session references

Begin with the daily and hourly charts.

Mark what matters for the session:

  • previous-day high, low, and close
  • previous-week close
  • Monday or weekly Opening Range
  • London Opening Range
  • first 30 minutes of the New York session
  • HCOM and LCOM
  • major support and resistance
  • 10, 20, 50, and 200 SMA
  • relevant Fibonacci levels

The map answers direction, location, and room. A mapped level by itself does not create an entry.

A selected parent chart can also own a larger setup when it has:

  • a clear 1-2-3 followed by a completed eligible candidate and its parent activation level, or
  • a frozen Step 2 base whose Step 3 breakout is forming while a preselected execution chart produces a valid candidate and directional trigger

In a parent-led trade, mark the parent activation level before moving to the execution chart. Use the five-minute chart as the recommended execution default. Do not search other intervals when the selected chart does not qualify.

Favor lower-timeframe setups that agree with broader momentum and the 200-SMA regime. Record Wait when the lower chart materially fights the larger map.

Use these docs for education, chart study, replay, and process review. Every setup can fail. You remain responsible for risk, size, orders, execution, and the decision to trade.
