Who is responsible

StoicTA, LLC operates Stoic Edge and is responsible for the personal information covered by this notice. Stoic Edge is the publication name.

Scope

This notice covers the Stoic Edge publication, newsletter, member portal, Compass checkout and access workflow, publisher console, and first-party site measurement. Stripe handles standalone Compass payment details. Skool and its payment processor handle Stoic Traders community checkout and payment records under their own privacy notices.

Information we collect

Newsletter records can include your email address, name, signup source, consent wording and history, preferences, subscription status, confirmation and management tokens, delivery status, suppressions, and provider events such as deliveries, bounces, complaints, and unsubscribes. If an existing list is imported, the import review also records source rows, validation results, consent evidence, and batch history.

Member records can include a display name, verified email, external membership reference, access status and dates, sign-in history, TradingView username, invite status, and hashed request or browser identifiers. Compass billing records can include Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, product and price identifiers, subscription status, billing-period dates, and cancellation status. Stoic Edge does not store full card numbers or card security codes. The publisher console keeps the owner email, sessions, security events, and limited IP-address and browser metadata.

We do not record obvious bot or link-preview requests to Stoic Traders links. For other visits, we record the source page, referring page, campaign tags, time, and a keyed fingerprint derived from the network address. We do not store the raw IP address in that visit record, and we record the same fingerprint at most once in 24 hours.

How and why we use information

We use these records to confirm signup requests, deliver requested messages, honor preferences, manage member access, protect public forms and private tools, diagnose delivery problems, measure first-party calls to action, and keep an operational audit trail. We do not sell personal information.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent to send optional newsletter messages; steps you request before or during a service relationship to provide member tools; legitimate interests in security, abuse prevention, service operation, and deliverability; and legal obligations that require us to keep or disclose limited records. You may withdraw newsletter consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.

Cookies and measurement

The member portal uses an essential, secure browser cookie to keep a signed-in session for up to 14 days. The private publisher console uses separate security cookies and shorter sessions. These cookies support access and abuse prevention.

Stoic Edge does not load a third-party analytics SDK or set an advertising analytics cookie. Postmark open tracking and link rewriting are currently off. Images and videos hosted elsewhere may still cause your browser or email client to contact that host.

Service providers and disclosures

Vercel hosts the application, Neon hosts the PostgreSQL database, Postmark delivers email, and Stripe processes standalone Compass billing. TradingView receives the username used to grant or remove private indicator access. Approved media hosts may deliver images or videos included in an issue. These providers process information for their stated services and under their own contractual and privacy terms.

We may disclose information when required by law, to protect the service or its users, or as part of a business reorganization where the recipient agrees to protect it. We do not share subscriber information with Skool merely because a reader joins the newsletter.

Retention

Newsletter confirmation links last 24 hours, management links last up to 30 days, and fresh one-time export or deletion links last 15 minutes. Member sign-in links last 15 minutes. Member sessions last up to 14 days and expire after seven days without activity. Expired one-time links and expired or revoked sessions are removed seven days after they stop being usable. Inactive rate-limit records are also removed after seven days. First-party call-to-action visits are removed after 35 days. Seed-test evidence expires after 24 hours and is removed 45 days after expiration.

The production database has a seven-day point-in-time recovery window and daily snapshots scheduled for 14-day retention. A separate manual recovery snapshot currently has no automatic expiry. We keep records only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including consent evidence, suppression, security, dispute, and legal needs. Imports, provider events, audit records, and other business records do not currently have a general automatic deletion schedule. More specific periods for those records are under review.

Your choices and rights

Every newsletter includes unsubscribe controls. You may also request a secure subscription link to review your status, download newsletter subscription, preference, consent, and suppression history, unsubscribe, or request profile removal. This self-service export does not include member records, first-party visit records, or the full internal audit export.

Profile removal replaces direct subscriber and import identifiers, clears profile fields and detailed source rows, cancels queued mail, and creates a delivery-blocking suppression. Redacted campaign, provider, consent, suppression, and audit records remain when needed to prevent future delivery, resolve incidents, or document the request. Complaint and hard-bounce suppressions are not removed through profile deletion.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of personal information. You may also withdraw consent and lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. Email stoic@stoicedge.com to make a request outside the self-service tools. We may need to verify the request and will respond within the period required by applicable law.

International processing

Stoic Edge is available to adults worldwide. The application and its providers may process information in the United States and other places where they operate. Privacy protections can differ between countries. Where applicable law requires a transfer mechanism or additional safeguard, we use the provider terms and safeguards appropriate to that transfer. Contact us for information about a specific transfer.

Adults only

Stoic Edge is intended for people who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an underage person submitted information, we will disable the account or subscription and remove the profile information where reasonably possible. We may retain limited security or suppression evidence when needed to prevent further processing.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the service or applicable law changes. The effective date above will change when an update is posted. We will provide additional notice when a material change requires it.
